Big Opportunities in Software Engineering – AIU courses

The research presented in this document delves into the qualities that define outstanding software engineers. Through over 60 hours of interviews and a thorough analysis of 389,000 words of recordings, 53 distinct traits were identified. These traits encompass both internal characteristics, such as decision-making abilities and personal drive, and external influences, including collaboration and innovation. The study highlights the importance of continuous improvement and the capacity to produce high-quality, anticipatory code. By understanding these qualities, educators and industry leaders can better prepare future engineers and foster environments that promote excellence in software development. This research serves as a valuable resource for enhancing practices in software engineering education and recruitment.
